'I didn't mean to scare anyone': Dolly Parton's sister clarifies her prayer appeal

Dolly postponed her first Las Vegas residency in over 30 years late last month, citing health challenges.

Frieda Parton took to Facebook to clarify the situation regarding her sister Dolly Parton's health.

"I didn't mean to scare anyone or make it seem so serious," Frieda said. "She's a little sick, and I just asked for prayers because I truly believe in the power of prayer. It was nothing more than a little sister praying for her big sister. Thank you all for your support. Your love truly makes a difference."

Frida originally posted the following:

“Last night, I stayed up all night praying for my sister Dolly. Many of you know she hasn't been feeling well lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I'm inspired to ask all those around the world who love her to become prayer warriors and pray with me. She is strong, she is loved, and with all the prayers being offered for her, I know in my heart that she will be just fine. God bless you, my sister Dolly. We all love you!”

Recently, Dolly postponed her Las Vegas residency in over 30 years, scheduled for late September.

Dolly said she was battling health challenges and joked in a statement, “It might be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it's not my usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”

Previously, Dolly also missed the announcement of Dollywood's latest tour.

Although Dolly hasn't made a habit of performing since her 2016 "Pure & Simple Tour," she has been busy releasing books, putting together Broadway stage musicals, and, of course, helping run Dollywood.
